Fresno State returns home for its second home meet in as many weeks

Big win to start
Fresno State defeated No. 10 South Dakota State 15-4 in the season opener last week. It was the largest margin of victory over a ranked opponent in program history.
Jumping seat on the come up
The Bulldog jumping seat teams have steadily improved over the last couple of years behind team efforts in both events. The Bulldog crew is now coached by Sara Tuck, who became the third straight former Bulldog to coach the jumping seat crew. Mahoney highlights the returners in both events, having been the leading scorer in the two events last season. In the fences, her classmate Paloma Primavera returns following her 7-6-1 debut season, with two MOP honors. In the flat, Molly Stewart enters her senior season after finishing last year with a 8-6-0 record.
The Bulldogs continued the jumping seat success in the opener under new assistant coach Sara Tuck. The Bulldogs earned a combined 9-1-0 win in the jumping seat events with a 5-0 sweep in the fences. It was the Bulldogs' first fences sweep since Jan. 23, 2025 and the first over a ranked opponent in at least five seasons.
A little bit of this and that
Fresno State has five student-athletes who competed in two events in the opening meet against South Dakota State last week.
On the western side, Abby Goddard and Shelby Robinette both competed in the horsemanship and reining. Robinette won both of her points against the Jackrabbits, highlighted by a 76.5 in her first career horsemanship ride. Goddard won her point and the horsemanship MOP against South Dakota State, but fell by a half point margin in her reining ride.
In the jumping seat, Sage Lindvall, Paris Mahoney and Molly Stewart competed in the fences and the flat. The trio went 2-0 in their rides with Mahoney earning the flat MOP by a score of 88. Lindvall scored career-high scores in both events with an 87 in the fences and 85 in the flat. Stewart also scored some of the highest scores of her career in the win, in both events.
Year 2 for Mahoney
The 2024-25 season saw a special showing from then-true freshman Paris Mahoney. She finished the year with a 10-4-0 record in the flat and an 8-6-0 record in the fences. Mahoney was an honorable mention All-America selection in the flat, and picked up All-Big 12 honors in both jumping seat events. She earned three MOP honors in each event on the year and opened her career with seven-straight wins through both events.
Her 10 flat wins last season tied the program record for most in a year in the event.
She picked up where she left off, winning both her points in the opener against South Dakota State, and earning the flat MOP with an 88 score.
Keepin' it in the family
The current Bulldog roster has a handful of familiar names on it. Isabella Bertozzi enters her third season with the Bulldogs as the younger sister of former Bulldog standout Ana Bertozzi. Freshmen Lucia Nunes, Lilly Gilson and Addison Mathias are all following in the footsteps of their older sisters. Lucia, the younger sister of current Bulldog Mia Nunes, gets to share the experience with her sister for one year. Gilson is the younger sister of former Bulldog reiner Shea Gilson (2016-20) while Mathias is the younger sister of Grace Mathias who completed her final year of eligibility last season.
