FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State volleyball team is back on the road this weekend, headed to Utah State and San Jose State.

The Bulldogs will travel to Logan, Utah, to face the Aggies on Thursday at 5 p.m. PT and then to San Jose, California, to challenge the Spartans at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.

WE MEET AGAIN

Fresno State is set to face San Jose State for the second time this season after sweeping the Spartans at home on October 4.

Addison Haluska had a career game in the Bulldogs' first run against the Spartans, with 25 kills and no errors recorded. She had a career-high hitting percentage of .610.

Gabby Lombardi fueled the offense with 29 assists, while also contributing two kills, 12 digs, a service ace and a pair of block assists.

This was the first time Fresno State had defeated San Jose State at home since 2020.

BULLDOG BORN

Fresno State middle blocker Brooklyn Washington is carrying on a proud family legacy: she's a second-generation Bulldog, following in the footsteps of her parents, who both competed as student-athletes at Fresno State.

Her mother, Megan, was a track athlete while her father, Raymond, was on the Fresno State Football team.

Washington has started in all but one match this season and ranks third on the team in both points and kills.

VALLEY GIRLS

Four members of the Bulldog Volleyball roster are hometown kids who grew up in either Fresno or Clovis, California.

Clara Garcia and Jayden Xiong were both raised in Clovis, while Peyton Bitter and Brooklyn Washington are Fresno Natives.

Washington's mother was on the track & field team while her father was on the football team, Garcia's mom was on the swim & dive roster and Xiong's parents are both proud Fresno State alums.

TEAM CAPTAINS

Fresno State volleyball Head Coach Leisa Rosen has announced that Addison Haluska and Jenna Legault will serve as the team's captains for the 2025 season.

"The impact Addi makes physically is imperative to our success, but what is equally as important is the connections she has created with each person in this program," Rosen said of Haluska. "She has developed a very strong connection with every player on our roster - and that is impressive."

Haluska has amassed over 1,000 kills and over 200 total blocks for the Bulldogs in her three seasons on the squad.

"The growth - both physically and mentally - that Jenna has demonstrated during this past spring will allow her to lead in a very authentic and genuine manner," Rosen boasted of Legault. "I'm looking forward to her personality and competitive nature driving the progress of our program forward."

Legault has been a standout for the Bulldogs in her two seasons on the court after redshirting in 2022.
