COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced on Tuesday athletes of the week for women's swimming & diving. Fresno State's Mackenzie Miller Lung was named the MW Swimmer of the Week and Natalia Bedolla earned MW Diver of the Week honors.
MOUNTAIN WEST SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
MACKENZIE MILLER LUNG, FRESNO STATE
Senior, Clovis, California/Clovis East HS
Earned 70 points for the Bulldogs en route to a second-place finish at the Gary Ota Memorial Invitational, formally known as the Fresno State Invite.
Finished in the top five in all eight events entered, including winning three events.
Won two individual events (100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke) and one relay (200-yard medley relay).
Earned an NCAA qualification in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.44, which ranks as the third-fastest time in the country this season and is the third-fastest time in Mountain West history.
Won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.05.
Holds the fastest time in the Mountain West in both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststrokes.
MOUNTAIN WEST DIVER OF THE WEEK
NATALIA BEDOLLA, FRESNO STATE
Senior, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico/Cobaej Emsad 59 HS
Won both diving disciplines (1-meter and 3-meter) at the Gary Ota Memorial Invitational, formally known as the Fresno State Invite.
Earned a zone qualification standard in the 1-meter by nearly nine points more than the qualification standard.
Placed first in the 1-meter with a score of 274.70, five points ahead of second place.
Won the 3-meter with a score of 279.45.
Earned 40 points for the Bulldogs, helping the team to a second-place finish.
