Bulldog Volleyball earns AVCA Team Academic Award in sixth straight season

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Fresno State volleyball team has received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2024–25 academic year, the organization announced Friday.

The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball programs that strive for excellence in the classroom by earning at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average during the 2024–25 school year.

The Bulldogs have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for six consecutive years and 14 of the past 16 seasons.

Volleyball programs from across the country continue to prove their dominance off the court, as a record-breaking 1,450 collegiate and high school teams maintained a yearlong GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale) to earn the 2024–25 AVCA Team Academic Award.

"It is very exciting to see that the record-setting, on-court successes during the 2024–25 season have extended to the classroom," AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon said. "The fact that more programs earned the Team Academic Award than ever before is evidence of how committed our coaches are when it comes to helping their players reach their goals as both students and athletes."

Fresno State is one of seven Mountain West programs to receive the award for 2024–25, along with New Mexico, Wyoming, Grand Canyon, UNLV, Boise State and Colorado State.
