FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team fell 8-3 against Air Force to conclude the teams' only regular-season series of 2025.
Fresno State is now 19-20 overall and 12-6 in Mountain West play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a pair of scoreless innings, the Falcons had an explosive third inning, scoring five runs on five hits.
The Bulldogs got on the board for the first time in the fourth inning. With runners on second and third, Bobby Blandford singled to right field to score the Bulldogs' first run of the game.
The Falcons tacked on another run in the fifth inning with an RBI single. Cayden Munster responded in the bottom half of the frame, leading off the inning with a solo home run, his third of the season.
It became a 7-2 game in the top of the seventh when the Falcons executed a successful sacrifice bunt to score one.
Fresno State scored for the final time in the bottom of the seventh. Owen Faust flied out to left field, but allowed Cayden Munster to score.
The Falcons solidified the win in the top of the ninth with a solo home run to left field.
NOTES
Fresno State remains at the top of the Mountain West standings with a 12-6 record in conference play.
Cayden Munster went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Fresno State and Air Force both scored a total of 17 runs in the series.
