'Dogs send nine to NCAA West First Round

FRESNO, Calif. – Boasting its most women since the NCAA adopted the current two-region format, Fresno State will begin competition on Thursday at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West First Round in Sacramento, California on May 25-27. The Bulldogs will have nine individuals in the field competing in five events, all seeking a spot in the NCAA Outdoor Championships set for June 7-10 in Austin, Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

MEET INFO

Athletes who rank among the Top 48 in their respective event in the west region earn berths into the NCAA West First Rounds. The best 24 relay times also advance to NCAA First Rounds. Athletes finishing within the Top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams qualify for the NCAA Championships in Austin Texas, June 7-10. The same standard is used for the NCAA East First Rounds, which is being held in Jacksonville, Florida.
